The Iron curtain is in rubble and Bible believers are joyfully pouring the gospel into Eastern Europe.

But at the same time another spirit is quietly seeping up through the cracks in the foundation of the "Christian" west.

Suddenly we are awakening to the fact that there are more Muslims than Episcopalians in the U.S.; …than Jews in North America; …than Baptists in Victoria State, Australia.

Writes Dr. Robert Morey in The Islamic Invasion,

"In England the situation is amazing: There are now more Arab Muslims in England than there are Methodists! There are even more Muslims than evangelical Christians."

What irony that thousands of church buildings in the western world have been bought and converted to Muslim mosques. So what's a believer to do?

Seize the opportunity. Muslim countries are more closed to the gospel than Russia was a decade ago.

Missionary activity has been almost zero for centuries. But now the Muslim may be your next door neighbor.

But how do we win him to Christ? He points to the morally bankrupt western culture and scorns our Christianity as a failure compared to the strict Islamic morality of Muslim countries.

Islam's zealous missionaries truly believe they can save the decaying western culture by imposing Islamic law to halt our moral rot.

As usual, Chick tracts are designed to shatter the foundations of all pagan religious systems.

This moon god was married to the sun goddess. They produced three goddess offspring, Al-Lat, Al-Uzza and Manat, known as the "daughters of Allah."

These five were viewed as "high gods" at the top of the pantheon of Arabian deities. Islam still uses the crescent moon as a major religious symbol.

Dr. Morey systematically and scientifically examines the tribal origins of Islam, the personal life of Muhammad, and the jumbled structure of the Quran.

In simple, eloquent style, Morey presents Islam as an attempt to freeze time around the 7th century Arab culture.

"Islam is actually the ‘deification' of seventh-century Arabian culture." (See page 20.)

"Islam is a distinctively Arabian cultural religion. Unless this fundamental point is understood, Western people will never understand why Muslims think and act the way they do." (See page 32)

The heart of Morey's book, however, is a comparison between the nature of Allah and the God of the Bible.

Many people today, even Christians, are much confused on this.

This is partly because Islam strongly insists that they are the same and partly because most of the modern translations of the Bible into Arabic use the word "Allah" for God.

The modern ecumenical movement has also bought this idea in their blind zeal for unity. Even the pope promotes this concept.

But Dr. Morey makes it readily obvious that they are two very different beings.

Allah and the God of the Bible are worlds apart in their nature and how they relate to creation.

The Quran presents Allah as unknowable and nonpersonal, so much so that to even refer to Allah as a spirit is considered blasphemous, demeaning of the exalted One.

To know God as revealed to us through the person of Jesus Christ is unthinkable to the Muslim.

"The Allah of the Quran is so distant, so far off, so abstract, that no one can know him." says Morey.

The Quran explicitly denies the Trinity.

Allah is a capricious, loveless, bystander only involved in the world through prophets, angels and his word.

But in the Bible, God himself enters history as Jesus Christ to redeem man by His grace and continually deals personally with every man through the Holy Spirit.

"The Quran never tells us in a positive sense what God is like in terms of his nature or essence.

"The so-called 99 attributes of Allah are all negative in form, signifying what Allah is not, but never telling us what he is." Muslim evangelists like to point out that both religions are monotheistic, both believe in only one god, therefore they must be the same god.

But by this type of reasoning, because two husbands practice monogamy, each have only one wife, they would both be married to the same woman.

Muslims also claim that Allah is in the Bible as part of the word "allelujah." Morey points out that this is not a compound Hebrew word, but is one word which means "praise to Yahweh."

They point to Jesus' cry on the cross of "Eli, Eli…" that He was actually saying "Allah, Allah."

But this is really an Aramaic translation of part of Psalms 22:1 in which Jesus was quoting: "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?"

Muslims claim both Jesus and Muhammad are mighty prophets of the one true God. Morey shows that their messages about God are highly contradictory.

Also, Jesus lived a sinless life full of compassion for mankind. Muhammad was the typical Arab chieftain, warring, robbing, and killing. He married 16 wives, had two concubine slaves plus four other devout Muslim women who gave themselves to satisfy his sexual cravings and desires.

One wife was stolen from his adopted son and one was only eight or nine years old when he took her to his bed.

Morey also compares the Bible and the Quran.

Compared to the Bible, the Quran is at best a jumbled, rambling collection of writings of a typical seventh century Arab chieftain with an overactive imagination.

It presents nothing new that was not already part of the tribal lore of the day.

Islam is the world's fastest growing religion. Sooner or later the Western World must confront this Islamic Invasion.

If we don't do it with the truth of God's Word, any other weapon we use may prove woefully inadequate.
