A Message From David W. Daniels
Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
We never know when the opportunity will strike to hand out a gospel tract. It's important to make sure we have them ready for that moment. If it passes, we may have lost a God-opportunity.
My wife Deborah and I spent our anniversary week camping under the trees in Sequoia National Park. Of course, I love to keep my pockets stuffed with Chick tracts. I've given them to ministers, doctors, and to college students atop Moro Rock, handed them to rangers and maintenance workers we met, and given them to other random people we struck up a conversation with.
But sometimes it's the person we don't hand it to who is most interested. In one market, I gave a young lady at the register Who's It Gonna Be? as I told her "I give these every time we come up." As I walked away I noticed another young lady at the next register, leaning over and looking at the tract with interested eyes. The next day I offered the tract to a young man at the register. He showed that they had the one from the day before. I said, "But you can keep this one." He took it. Again, that other young lady was at the next register. She really leaned over, eyes wide. This time I caught it in time. I said, "Would you like one, too?" She indicated yes, and since her hands were on the one from yesterday, I gave her Limited Time Offer. I had made sure to put an assortment in my pockets before we went out of camp.
It is a wonderful feeling at the end of the day, to need to re-stock my pockets with tracts. These are precious souls that desperately need a loving Saviour to forgive their sins, heal their hearts and prepare them for heaven. And it will be a glorious day when we see the souls that got saved because we cared enough to tell them —and give them— the truth.
As God inspired Paul to write in Galatians 6:9, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
The rewards are out of this world.
In Christ Jesus, and for His service,
