Battle Cry
"Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?" Gal. 4:16

A Message From David W. Daniels
Issue Date: May/June 2018

Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

My wife Deborah and I went bowling the other day. We have two things going for us. First, nobody keeps score. And second, we can't get worse. There is no direction for us to go but up!

I give Chick tracts to all the employees. One of them, a young lady, received Limited Time Offer with a big smile and started reading it. Right there. In the popular, busy, bowling alley. Despite the lines. (We suggest to people to read them during their break, but it's still their choice.)

Deb and I went about doing our excuse for buying bowling balls: getting the exercise. Then it came time to buy more games. I came back to the young lady. She came up to me and said, "I read the Bible, but I don't always understand what it says. Reading these helps me understand what the Bible says."

How encouraging! I said, "Then here's another one you may like," and handed her I See You!

This young woman is an example of so many people we encounter. They were not brought up on the Bible. There are many things they don't understand about the Bible. But one goal of Chick tracts is to give the reader a taste of God's words, and to make them hungry for more. As Jack said and I say, "The power is in the scriptures."

We want the story to be compelling, simple, and biblical enough to help make the bridge between their life and the scriptures. Chick tracts are made for that: to provide a bridge from the reader, saved or unsaved, to the holy scriptures.

The theme of Limited Time Offer is simple: Why would a loving God send anyone to burn forever? That's a question people ask every day. So that's a question worth answering, with an engaging story. That story is to help them want to get saved, and then want to learn more from the scriptures.

The themes of Who's It Gonna Be? are also simple. If there's a God, why would He allow evil to happen? And if you were God, how many evil people would you have to kill, to stop bad things from happening?

Chick tracts are made to bring them to Christ, and to get them to want the scriptures for answers. And Chick tracts get read. So let's get them to as many as we can, as long as we can.

In Christ Jesus, and for His service,
