Letter from the desk of Jack Chick

Dear Ones in Christ,

The Bible says, "...by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil" (Proverbs 16:6). The reason for that fear is hell and it isn't talked about much in the pulpits today. Consequently the public, especially youth, have no fear about this frightening reality. Instead, hell has become a mockery in the world of rock music, with false promises of an eternal "party time" and glorification of Satan.

We've even had some poor, misled souls tell us that we should be "nice" like Jesus and not talk about such an awful place. These people don't realize that most of our teaching on hell comes directly from the words of Jesus. He knows it is a very real place, and loves people enough to warn them against it.

Our newest tract, NO FEAR?, uses the current hot topic of teen suicide to draw attention to the awful reality of hell. I shared NO FEAR? with a local college student, who said suicide was discussed very often on campus. A 13-year-old told me he had seriously thought about suicide four times. NO FEAR? will warn those who are in despair that suicide is not the answer, Jesus is! I firmly believe we will receive letters saying, "Oh, I wish NO FEAR? had come out last year, because if my child had read it, he would be with us today."

Beloved, this is not a tract written just for young people who are thinking of suicide. It is written for everyone, to show that hell is real, and suicide is not the way out. Because suicide is such a hot topic of discussion on campuses, I believe God will use this tract to get the attention of people everywhere. There is no second chance. We've got to warn them before it is too late!

Your brother in Christ,

Jack T. Chick
