The Problems in Personal Evangelism

4. WHY WOULD A LOVING GOD SEND A SOUL TO HELL FOREVER?

  1. God is a God of supreme love.

    1. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - Jn 3:16

    2. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. - Jn 15:13

  2. God is also a God of justice.

    1. Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne... - Psa 89:14

    2. A nation has justice when her criminals are punished in accordance to the law for their crimes. A nation has no justice when every crime is excused and every criminal is freed. Likewise, God's justice demands that every sinner be punished accordingly.

  3. The more perfect and righteous we are, the more we will hate sins. God is one hundred percent perfect and holy, and He hates sins thoroughly. No sinner can dwell in His holy presence and He will send every sinner into hell forever.

    1. For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing ( falsehood ): the Lord will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. -Psa 5:4-6

    2. The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. - Psa 9:17

    3. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. - Mt 25:46

    4. The very animals whose smell is most offensive to us have no idea that they are offensive, and are not offensive to one another. And man, fallen man, has just no idea what a vile thing sin is in the sight of God. - J. C. Ryle

  4. When a person dies, his character is fixed. This is another reason why hell is forever.

    1. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. - Rev 22:11

This verse is true only in the light of eternity where the human character becomes fixed.

    2. Death stamps the characters and conditions of men for eternity. As death finds them in this world, so will they be in the next world. -Nathaniel Emmons

  5. God does not desire to see any soul in hell.

    1. Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? -Ezek 18:23

    2. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. - 2 Pet 3:9
What men fear is not that death is annihilation but that it is not. - Epicurus.
