Jack Chick's View Of Halloween

Many Christians share Jesus with kids on Halloween by giving out cartoon tracts that Jack drew especially for this night, but you may not have heard the story of how Jack got started doing this.

Here is how Jack told the story:

It was October 1976, and I had just settled in a small city here in Southern California. Halloween was not nearly as popular as it is today. But I did have several visitors to my door that night.

I remember specifically four young girls dressed in ghostly costumes, who knocked on my door. We had not yet written any Halloween-themed tracts, so I handed them each a copy of "Happy Hour" (the story of an alcoholic father).

I was amazed to see that each girl stood there silently on my porch and started reading the tract. What shocked me even more was that each said her father was the same way -a drunk, who caused tremendous conflict in their homes! I encouraged them to read through the whole tract that night and pray and ask the Lord to save them.

God helped me realize that night what an amazing witnessing opportunity we Christians have each Halloween. Hurting children with no hope will be visiting our homes and it's the perfect opportunity to give each one a tract, showing them how to get SAVED!

We've heard from many of you who have decided not to turn off the lights and hide in the back room on Halloween, but who have decided to use it as a witnessing opportunity. Praise God for you!

Kids will come to your door so you don't have to worry about walking on other people's property and possibly getting a door shut in your face as you talk. For most of us shy people, the hardest part about witnessing is having to approach people. But on October 31st, these people will come to OUR door!

Will you join other Christians around the country and help reach the kids (and their parents) in your neighborhood? Beloved, this is a war for souls!!!

Mission Report Update

Missionaries continue to call and ask for Chick tracts for their evangelism. And you have never let them down. We have been able to continue to meet their needs.

Here is what is happening this week...

Philippines

The truck is coming Tuesday so we can load these large pallets of Chick tracts into a container and send it off to the port. Many ministries are waiting!

Malawi

Our thanks to Dave Darling of Campaigns for Christ for these pictures from the recent crusade with Missionary David Robinson in the African nation of Malawi.

Just shipped:

Mexico - 10,000 more tracts for Missionary Timmy Oakes in Guyamas, Mexico.
Mozambique - Missionary Jacob Clower is now taking delivery of 10,000 Portuguese tracts to help with a new church plant in the capital city of Maputo.

Coming up:

Israel - Plans are underway to print more Chick tracts in Israel. The whole region is in an uproar, but the Gospel keeps going out!
Zimbabwe - Missionaries have requested another 200,000 tracts for the next crusade in Africa.
Kenya - 20,000 Swahili and English tracts are now on the way to Missionary Nathanael Steinbart to be used during medical clinics, then ending with planting a church on November 10th. Steinbart is praying for a great harvest.
