The Great Commission’s Missing Piece

Cissie Graham Lynch, granddaughter of Billy Graham and host of the Fearless podcast, is urging Christians to stop bending to culture — and return to God’s unchanging standards. “We have slowly let down our guards,” she warned in a recent interview at the Congress on European Evangelism. “We’ve allowed culture to define how we’re going to live. And as Christians, we’ve adopted that.”
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
My friend, Eric, has been a blessing for years. He had led a rough life. But the Lord was so loving to him, and brought him up, out of drugs and into a faith-filled life in Christ. Eric still has a circle of friends who are doing what he used to do, and he wants to reach them for Christ.
For 20 years, since high school, his friends have had the same habit: partying on the weekend. They would go out to bars or one another’s house, they’d drink alcohol and take psychedelics: mushrooms, MDMA (ecstasy), acid and others.
“It all adds up,” he told me. “Their whole attitude toward all of those things, is ‘Just a little bit won’t hurt. It never has.’ And they’ve been caught in that pattern for so many years that they begin to think themselves invincible, or the stuff doesn’t add up. They think, ‘I’ve been taking it for years. What’s gonna stop me now?’”
One friend, the son of the school principal, overdosed on heroin and died. But that tragedy wasn’t enough to get them to stop drinking and taking drugs.
I gave Eric a copy of the new tract, One More Step. It tells about a young man who figures he is not really a sinner, because he only tries things once. After encountering a young lady who confronts him with the gospel, he rejects the last step of placing his faith in Christ. Then something scary happens.
My friend turned the page. He was expecting a whole new part of the story, but suddenly it surprised him. That was the end! The character made one fatal mistake, and it was all over for him.
Eric told me he could easily hand this tract to his friends. It highlights an all-too-prevalent attitude of “I can handle this.” They think if they don’t sin too much, they aren’t really sinners. But God gives us the cold, hard truth. As Eric put it, “One step over the line… and that’s a wrap.”
Read the new tract, One More Step, and pray about its message. I bet you can think of people to give it to right now. And it is a tract that is a story, not preachy, so you can give it to anybody. God bless you as you hand out this message of hope, salvation… and reality.
In Christ Jesus, and for His service,
David Daniels
When I was sixteen and I went up into my attic and looked through a keepsake box my mom left me and saw it my first tract ever - “This Was Your Life”. Although I didn’t get saved right away those pictures and words resonated in my head until I did get saved in March 2012. Once I did get saved I started passing all the Chick Tracts out like crazy. There have been many people who have given me other tracts and although they are Biblical and well meaning I have had nowhere near the response as a Chick tract. Through these tracts I have not only had the most spiritual warfare, but I have seen people get saved!!! Even handing the other tracts out I don’t even feel as confident because people will look at and give me a shrug, but with Chick tracts they read them right then and there.

Notice: No email next week - 4th of July

Chick customers continue to support their missionaries by providing Chick tracts for their outreaches through the Chick Mission Fund. Through your giving, here are some of the things happening this week:
Ukraine – Thanks to your giving, 100,000 Ukrainian Chick tracts are on the way to be included in a container heading for Ukraine from White Horse Heights Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. The groups working with them in Ukraine are ministering to soldiers on the battle lines, and also to the children whose lives have been turned upside down by this war.
Mexico (Oaxaca) - Missionary Joe Hendrigsman in Oaxaca, Mexico requested 2.4 million Chick tracts for his network of churches and workers there in southern Mexico. They also reach further south into more Latin American countries. Thanks to your giving, 500,000 Chick tracts were just delivered to Seeds of Grace Transportation, who is sending a truck down to Oaxaca with literature. More of you have given so that another 450,000 Spanish Chick tracts are in the print schedule for the next truckload. As you continue giving, we will continue to work through the remaining 1,450,000 tracts they need.
Mexico (Mexico City) - Missionary Mitch Muller has been using the 24,000 Chick tracts you recently sent him. Here he shares a photo of a young man who was saved after reading the tract you provided!

His name is Moses. Just a random encounter. Glory to God!

I've got mine!
Italy – 10,000 Italian “Hi There” were shipped this week to Jason Madera. He planted an active church in Agugliaro, and says “It’s astounding how little Gospel light there is here in Italy, with entire cities of 100,000+ people with no Gospel preaching pastors/missionaries at all.”
Myanmar/Burma – 10,000 Burmese “Greatest Story Ever Told” were sent to Missionary Dan Armacost. This tract is often requested in this part of the world, because it presents Jesus in a way that is easily understood in a culture with no Christian heritage. Since we cannot ship directly into Myanmar, Armacost uses the services of a group that has a way to get them in. Last March, a massive earthquake devastated several cities. Armacost is planning to make a trip through these areas to distribute rice, oil and gospel tracts. There has been a lot of suffering in this country.
Missionary Pat Caspary also connected us with ministries helping those who have fled the violence in Myanmar to find safety in nearby Thailand. The Myanmar military is bombing their own people in a vicious civil war. Look closely at the picture below. All the children have Chick tracts that you provided! Their parents will read them, too.

Dominican Republic – Thanks to your giving, we are preparing to ship 400,000 Spanish “This Was Your Life” to Missionary Lacy Wheeler, who is preparing a container of literature headed to Dominican Republic. The churches there specifically asked that this container include Chick tracts for their outreaches!
