Which Bible Would the Devil Want You to Read?
You don’t need a seminary degree to ask meaningful questions about the Bible—especially when it comes to the reliability and authenticity of modern translations.
David Daniels recently raised some excellent points worth serious consideration. 🤔
Did God Promise to Preserve His Word? ✝️
If we’re going to talk seriously about Bible versions, we need to start with Jesus’ own words.
📖 Matthew 5:18
“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
📖 Matthew 24:35
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
These aren’t just poetic lines—they're definitive promises. Jesus didn’t say only His ideas would last; He said His actual words would be preserved. 🛡️
That means we should expect to find His preserved words in a Bible that is complete, reliable, and accessible today. 📚
What’s the Standard? ⚖️
God warned us clearly:
📖 “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it…” —Deuteronomy 4:2
📖 “…If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues…” —Revelation 22:18–19
But here’s the key question:
How can we obey that warning if we don’t know what the standard is?
That’s why having a preserved, unchanged Bible is so crucial.
The Devil’s Strategy
The devil doesn’t need to burn Bibles—he just needs to distort them.
He wants to:
When that happens, Scripture can be:
Look at what some modern versions do:
What Does History Show? 📜🔍
Did God preserve His Word through monasteries, locked away from everyday people?
Or did He use faithful men and women—ordinary believers who copied and passed along Scripture with care and reverence?
Also, think about this:
Why do the very doctrines under attack today—like:
...just happen to be weakened or missing in many modern Bible versions?
Is that just coincidence?
Or are we watching the slow, systematic removal of critical truths? ⚠️
You Don’t Need a PhD 🎓🚫
Sometimes it just takes a good question and the courage to answer it honestly.
Which Bible do you think God wants you to have?
And which Bible do you think the devil would prefer?
That’s what the Bible version debate is really about—not technical jargon, but a battle for truth.
