Would You Trust a Bible from These Men?

Hi Friend, 👋

Would you trust a Bible translated by people who didn’t even believe it was God’s Word? 😟

Sadly, that’s the case with several men behind some of the most widely used modern Bibles today.

Let me introduce you to three real men involved in major Bible translation projects—and why their influence still matters.

👤 Man #1: Dr. Eugene Nida

This man didn’t just influence one Bible version—he influenced over 200.

Here’s what he believed:

“The Scientific American (my favorite magazine) and the accounts in Genesis 1 and 2 made sense only as two quite different ways of understanding texts: literally (the Scientific American) and figuratively (the Bible).”

Let that sink in. His science magazine was “literal,” but Genesis was just “figurative.”

He believed:

  • The Bible was not to be taken literally
  • God was "sorry" for creating people, and that made sense to him because good people were rare

And yet, this man shaped Bible translations read by millions.

His résumé:

  • Executive Translations Secretary, American Bible Society
  • Founding organizer, Summer Institute of Linguistics
  • Founding member, Wycliffe Bible Translators
  • Delegate, United Bible Societies
  • Adjunct professor at the Jesuit Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome

He also developed the “dynamic equivalence” method—where translators prioritize what they think the verse means, not what it actually says.

One of his most influential hires? 👇

👤 Man #2: Robert Bratcher

Bratcher was a former seminary teacher—until he was forced to resign from the Baptist Theological Seminary in Rio de Janeiro due to his unbiblical views.

Here’s what he said:

“Jesus Christ would not enjoy omniscience. That is an attribute of God.”
“Jesus did not claim He and the Father to be one—which would be absurd.”

But Jesus clearly said:
📖 “I and my Father are one.” —John 10:30

After resigning in disgrace, he was picked up by the American Bible Society and chosen to lead a new Bible project:

✅ The Today’s English Version
Also called:
Good News for Modern Man
Good News Bible
– Now available in “interconfessional” editions used by both Protestants and Catholics

This man insulted Bible believers and denied clear doctrines about Jesus—yet helped create a Bible used around the world. 🤯

👤 Man #3: William Wonderly

Wonderly worked with Wycliffe Bible Translators and the Summer Institute of Linguistics… until he refused to sign a statement affirming that the Bible was inspired.

Because of that, he was forced to resign.
But he didn’t stay unemployed for long...

➡️ The American Bible Society hired him next.

They placed him in charge of a new Spanish translation of the Bible:

📖 Versión Popular
Also known as:
Dios Llega al Hombre
Dios Habla Hoy (“God Speaks Today”)

This version is still widely used—especially in Catholic and interconfessional circles.

💡 What Do These Men Have in Common?

All three were chosen, hired, and promoted by the same man: Dr. Eugene Nida.

He trained them, defended them, and helped them spread their ideas—by shaping the Bibles millions of people read today.

😠 Why This Matters

Do you want people who don’t believe in the Bible to translate the Bible for you?

Do you want people who deny Jesus’ deity and God’s inspiration of Scripture to tell you “what the Bible really means”?

I don’t.

📖 “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” —Romans 10:17
If the Bible builds faith, then a corrupted Bible spreads doubt.

That’s why I only trust God’s preserved words in English—the King James Bible.

✅ No paraphrasing
✅ No unbelieving editors
✅ No Jesuit-trained linguists reinterpreting God’s truth

Let’s support only those who believe, translate, and teach what God actually said.

Testimony

"I buy this for friends and loved ones..."

"I just finished reading this book yesterday. I enjoyed the information very much. I have always had reservations about the different Bible versions since about 1970, when I first accepted Christ. When these versions started taking out whole passages and changing the meaning of the verse, I went back to the KJV. Too many of our Christian brothers and sisters have been duped by these versions. And since the Catholic Church has started endorsing some of them, if not all of them, I started to question their (bible versions that is) reliability."
