The Occult Isn’t Hiding Any More
If you’ve noticed what’s on TV lately, you already know: the occult isn’t hiding anymore. From “cute” witch cartoons to magical superheroes, children are being introduced to sorcery, spells, and dark powers at younger and younger ages. What used to be reserved for older teens and adults is now being marketed straight to kids.
The kids are coming to your door . . . soon!
Over the years, Christians have sent us some great ideas about how they use this “holiday” for the Lord. Most of you have probably never seen them. We will bring back some of these great ideas over the next few weeks. Here are some really creative ones. Enjoy...
Testimony
Do we celebrate Halloween? No. Do we evangelize on Halloween? You better believe it!
What other night do people come right to you? Our town hosts a main street event that’s a lot like a trunk-or-treat, with vendors, games, gifts, and more. We set up a booth, handed out lots of candy—and every single gospel tract we had. We even ran out! Let’s all be in prayer that God will water the gospel seeds that were planted. — R. B. (Email)

With well over 6 million Chick tracts provided to worldwide missionaries in just the first 8 months of this year, the Chick Mission Fund continues to equip missionaries with easy-to-read Chick tracts everywhere! Thank you for your continued support that is making this all possible.
Brazil – Missionary Brian Lawson is planning a big outreach in northwestern Brazil. Campaigns for Christ is bringing a team down to help, and needs 50,000 Chick tracts. Shipping into Brazil is difficult, so we are delighted to be able to “piggy-back” on a container being sent by Bearing Precious Seed. They want 50,000 of the tract “This Was Your Life” in Portuguese for this Catholic nation.
Thailand/Burma – Missionary Pat Caspary has asked us to continue to supply four ministries near the Thai border with Burma. The civil war there has driven many desperate refugees into Thailand to escape the bombing, and these ministries are providing Gospel witness, along with rice and relief supplies. They even set up schools to teach the children (including the Gospel, of course). They continue to need 40,000 more Chick tracts!

Netherlands – Missionary Stan Kamps, sent out by Missions To Forgotten Peoples, has requested another 70,000 Chick tracts for his work near the massive city of Amsterdam. In addition, he works closely with a Syrian church in Almelo, just 1-1/2 hours away. They also need 30,000 Chick tracts. With your help, we will provide them.
Switzerland – We are grateful to a donor who provided great help toward 20,000 Chick tracts in the old Romansh language, spoken by tens of thousands of Roman Catholics in the Graubünden canton of Switzerland. Thanks to your help, we had enough to finish this project, and the tracts are now on the way for the fall outreach! Missionary Nico Verhoef said he is finding a great openness for Gospel here.
Philippines – The opportunity for the Gospel is amazing in this country right now. We are planning another container of Chick tracts the end of this year or beginning of next. The container can hold 2,400,000 Chick tracts, and so many missionaries have requested the tracts that already 70% of the space on this shipment is reserved. More requests are coming in, and we have already begun to print for this project. With your help, we will be able to finish it.
People all over the Philippines are reading the Chick tracts you sent in the last container.
Current Needs:
- Ivory Coast (NEW REQUEST): Missionary Dan Cuthbertson in Ivory Coast (Africa) needs 80,000 French Chick tracts. The Cuthbertsons are an amazing missionary family. Many of their grown children have also become missionaries, and some work right alongside their parents. They have available space on a container heading for Africa, and we need to fill that space with Chick tracts! Learn more about this missionary family here: www.cuthbertsons.org/
- Mexico - We have already shipped 1.2 million of the 2.4 million tracts needed by missionary Joe Hendrigsman. As you continue to give, we will continue to print until we have met this need. They have a network of churches that are fully committed to distributing the Gospel here in the state of Oaxaca.
- Mexico - Missionary Paul Buskager is planning another campaign in northern Mexico and is preparing the list of tracts he needs.
- Colombia - We have already supplied half of the 20,000 tracts needed by Missionary Mark Gerosin. To make customs clearance simple, we are shipping 5,000 at a time. We need to send more.
