Young Adults Hungry for God’s Design

Gen Z young adults (18-28 years old) are breaking the mold. Raised amid hookup culture, digital noise, and gender confusion, they’re turning back to traditional values. Not out of nostalgia—but necessity.

For the past 3-4 years I have been binding chick tracts with miniature candies like Hershey KitKat etc. and have put them in half a dozen businesses around town bowling alley, ace hardware and 4 different restaurants. Wrapped approximately 700 this year.

We passed out maybe a hundred and fifty snack bags with candy and gospel tracts. I don't know of any results, in particular, but I know the word of God does not return void and these tracts are kicking around many homes in our town. One father smiled as I passed out the tracts and said I remember those from when I was a kid. The kids don't come to my home anymore, but I passed all these out from the trunk of my car at a local Trunk or Treat event. — S. J. (Email)  

Missionaries the world over are asking for Chick tracts.  Through your giving, the Chick Mission Fund has been able to provide more than 65 million Chick tracts to missionaries worldwide.  Recently, the new requests have been overwhelming!  But with your help, we will meet them. Here is what is happening this week:

Mexico – Missionary Paul Buskager has been running crusades in Mexico for a number of years.  He worked at first alongside Missionary Tim Urling, until Urling felt called to pastor a church in Texas.  From that time, Buskager has been running these crusades himself.  In late October, he has about 60 Mexican pastors plus missionaries plus many workers from the U.S. coming to join him for a crusade in the city of Mexicali, with over 3,000,000 people that need Jesus.  He needs 270,000 Chick tracts to equip these teams.  This will be a big outreach, and they are counting on all of us to provide the ammunition!

Also, in the Mexico City metro area, Missionary Todd Eklund is waiting for another supply of Chick tracts.  He and his wife Yola, plus a number of Mexican believers, are faithfully planting these seeds and have run out. They need more! Todd is one of those overflowing Christians who makes friends with everyone, and gives them Chick tracts!  Here are a couple of pictures of street vendors and laborers who got touched by this missionary.

In the Oaxaca area (southern Mexico) we have completed another 200,000 Chick tracts for Missionary Joe Hendrigsman.  He and his teams take the tracts with their medical mission teams into the mountains, and give people the gospel along with medical care.  They also have a large network of churches they work with that pass Chick tracts all over the cities.  So far, we have completed 1.4 million of the 2.4 million tracts requested for this area.

Thailand/Burma – Missionary Pat Caspary has requested 40,000 tracts to equip four ministry teams in northern Thailand who are running out of tracts.  Many work with refugees from the Burma war.  We began shipping some Chick tracts to them, and expect to ship more next week.  Here are pictures from one of the ministries who has been able to get the tracts into school assemblies where Thai students are being taught English.

Brazil – We have finished printing the 50,000 Portuguese Chick tracts that Missionary Brian Lawson needs in Ji-Paraná, Brazil.  They were shipped this week to Bearing Precious Seed, who is preparing a container headed for Brazil.  We are grateful to be able to have these tracts included in that container.  The Chick Mission Fund will have no shipping cost on this project.

Netherlands – This week, we completed printing the 100,000 Chick tracts requested by Missionary Stan Kamps for his work around Almere, about 20 minutes from Amsterdam.  Their approach is to go house to house and also to the mailboxes where they have access.  At his request, we will ship this next week because he is temporarily out of the country, and will return then.

Papua New Guinea – Missionary Josh Florence, who ministers in Kiunga, Papua New Guinea, has asked for tracts.  He and his family are on a short furlough back in the U.S. and they will soon return to Papua New Guinea.
