Why Did the King James Translators

Include the Apocrypha?

Many Christians today are surprised when they open a 1611 King James Bible and find extra books tucked between the Old and New Testaments. These writings are called the Apocrypha. The Apocrypha is not Scripture at all, but a collection of fables and man-made stories that were never inspired by God. Yet some publishers continue to include it in modern printings...

I was in a little locksmith shop and after business, I gave a tract to customer on the way out.  He apparently left it on the counter. But the 25 y.o. clerk picked it up and read it. It was one of those anti Catholic/last days tracts (I don't remember the title.)

Next time I had to drop in, the lady pulled me aside and said, "I've never been to a church, I know nothing about religion, but I believe what is in that booklet you left. Can you tell me more? Would you meet with me on my lunch hour in the morning, at the library please, and explain it all to me?". Well, of course I was happy to, but as it was we met in the local park and she listened. She asked me how she could be saved.

Not all the fish jump out of the water like her, however, I have had people ask me for "more of those booklets!"  The power of God is in the preaching of the Gospel, the Bible says, so because each of the Chick tracts present Jesus and the Cross and Resurrection, they are bound to be powerful! And the bait used, is of course, the marvelous individual stories in pictures! – L.W. (Email)

Chick customers are so creative! Here are some ways they’ve found to deliver the Gospel on Halloween.

Our Lord was already convicted me to fight the darkness with the light in our neighborhood. They were having a block party celebrating Helloween. They wanted everyone to setup tables at the end of our driveway with treats. I then saw your Vlog 241 posted What if the Devil Came to Your Door? That confirmed what the Lord had put on my heart.
I dressed up as a True Christian Soldier, and sat in my Colman camping chair /table with Chick Tract’s, $Tracts Bills along with brand new $1 Bills.
It was a Big hit for the children & parent’s! Thank you so much for inspiring us to fight the Good Fight against the darkness of this world, with the True Light of His Word!

Thank you again for helping send out those wonderful tracts!  I was able to give all 100 out in a few hours.  Two tracts per bag with candy.  Now at least 50 souls have more been exposed to Christ's Gospel.  Praise the Lord!  God bless you all for your work.

The Chick Mission Fund continues to be very active, as missionaries ask for Chick tracts every week!  Because you have been so faithful to support it, we have been able to meet their needs as they come in.

Israel – We now have full funding commitments for the project of 65,000 dual-language “Royal Affair” tracts.  We have ordered the printing from the printer in Israel who has printed these before, and the project is underway.  King David is held in such high regard among the Israeli population, that this story is a fantastic doorway to present Jesus to them.  We expect the tracts to be reaching Jewish homes before the end of this month.

Mauritius – Australian Missionary James Herringson has been using the Chick tracts you provide in this French-speaking island in the Indian Ocean for several years.  He just wrote: “Praise the Lord we have seen souls saved over the past few months.   Your tracts are the main reason visitors come to our church and get saved. “  Rejoice . . . you have made this possible.  We are right now printing two more French Chick tract titles for this ministry.

Nicaragua – BIMI Missionary Ricardo Portillo just received eight thousand Chick tracts for his ministry.  Shipping Gospel tracts to Nicaragua is very difficult, but they are on a short trip in the U.S., so we were able to ship them to a location where he will be this month.  His family will carry the tracts back with them.  In the 13 years they have served in Nicaragua, they have been involved in planting five churches.  They want to do more.

Papua New Guinea – The group of missionaries who requested 320,000 Pidgin Chick tracts for this island nation include well-known missionaries Chad Wells, working in the highlands near Mount Hagen, and Joseph Anderson, serving in the coastal town of Wewak.  Working with Dave Darling of Campaigns For Christ, these veteran missionaries have put together a team of national pastors and PNG Christians for a big outreach in June.  We are hurrying to meet the loading deadline for their container.

United Kingdom – Last week, you read about a day in the ministry of Kristina Kim, associated with Cross Mission.  She works the streets looking for those willing to talk about Jesus, giving them Chick tracts and a gentle but fervent witness.  She is running out of tracts.  This week, we are shipping her the next batch of 30,000 tracts for the people of the greater London area.  Thank you for making it possible!

Mexico – Missionary Walt Selman continues to encourage us with pictures of the people in the hospital district receiving the Chick tracts you provided.  These came from in front of the cancer hospital, where many are soon to step into eternity.  You are putting the message of Jesus into their hands.

Also for Mexico, your giving has enabled us to schedule printing of the next 200,000 tracts toward the request of 2.4 million tracts for the church network of Missionary Joe Hendrigsman in Oaxaca, Mexico.  Having already completed 1,400,000 tracts for them, we continue to chip away at this massive project.  Hendrigsman and his team often conduct medical outreaches, bringing medical care (and the Gospel) to southern Mexico communities.

Hendrigsman has a warehouse out of which he sends Chick tracts and Bibles to churches all over that area.  The workers are really anxious to get more of these tracts.  He just wrote: “We have been able to send some to the border of Chiapas and Guatemala. Some even went into Guatemala. We have sent some to the states of Puebla and Vera Cruz. We have received permission to give each student in the municipality of San Andres Paxtlan a Bible and they will each get two different titles of Chick tracts. This will be done in November. I just received a call for tracts for the state of Hidalgo. I will send them in the next few weeks.”

Philippines – The 7th Philippine container of Chick tracts is being prepared.  Our warehouse is full of boxes of tracts in Filipino, English, Hiligaynon, Ilocano and Cebuano Chick tracts, waiting to be loaded into the container.  We have many more to print.  As you continue to give toward this project, we hope to complete it before year-end.  So far, the total number of tracts for this container is 2,328,000.  Thank you for your amazing faithfulness!
