Where Does Your Bible Come From?

Hi Friend, šŸ‘‹

Did you know there are actually two different streams of Greek manuscripts behind our Bibles today? šŸ¤”

One came from Antioch of Syria—where believers were first called Christians. The other came from Alexandria, Egypt—where men mixed pride, philosophy, and pagan religion into the text.

Here’s the breakdown šŸ‘‡

šŸ› Stream #1: Alexandria, Egypt

This stream was driven by scholars who didn’t treat the Bible as God’s perfect word.

Here’s what they did:

  • āŒ Cut out entire books
  • āŒ Added other writings
  • āŒ Removed or changed passages they didn’t like

Even the Lord’s Prayer couldn’t survive. In one set of manuscripts, 32 out of 40 words didn’t match! 🤯

Later, Eusebius carried these manuscripts to Constantinople. From there, 50 ā€œBiblesā€ were produced. Many believe Sinaiticus and Vaticanus came from this line.

This became the basis of the Roman Catholic Bible—and later, most modern versions (NIV, ESV, NLT, etc.).

āœļø Stream #2: Antioch of Syria

In Antioch, the believers simply copied God’s word faithfully.

  • āœ… Their manuscripts show amazing agreement
  • āœ… They spread quickly across the world
  • āœ… They were translated into many languages within years of the apostles’ deaths

So who do you trust?

  • 🤨 A handful of scholars who couldn’t agree with each other
  • šŸ™ Or thousands of consistent manuscripts preserved by believers who suffered for their faith

šŸ“– Example: 1 Corinthians 1:18

The difference shows up clearly in this verse:

  • KJV: ā€œunto us which ARE SAVED it is the power of God.ā€ āœ… Finished salvation
  • NKJV: ā€œbeing saved.ā€ 🚩 Salvation as a process
  • Catholic Bibles: ā€œon the road to salvation.ā€ 🚌 Works-based

But salvation isn’t gradual. You either are saved or you’re not.
šŸ“– Jesus said: ā€œā€¦if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.ā€ —John 8:24

šŸ’” Here’s My Heart

I studied Greek at the highest levels. I’ve got shelves of books on manuscripts, Hebrew, and papyri.

And yet—if I want to know what God actually said, I turn here šŸ‘‰ the King James Bible.

It faithfully carries the meaning of the Hebrew and Greek into English.

😠 Why This Matters

Modern Bibles are built on the Alexandrian foundation—and that’s why they’re filled with omissions, doubts, and doctrinal confusion.

But God promised to preserve His word. And in English, He has through the King James Bible.

  • āœ… Thousands of consistent manuscripts
  • āœ… No missing verses
  • āœ… No works-based gospel

Friend, that’s why I trust the KJV.

"The amount of research that David has put into exposing the modern translations over the years is phenomenal. His books are always well documented and provide plenty of evidence. This is a must read for anyone that truly cares to stand on a strong foundation." - Vincent, Verified Buyer
