After three days, I couldn’t take it any more!

I was raised in a Roman Catholic home. At the age of 25, I was managing a retail store in Mississippi. One of my employees, whom I would say was a pretty free spirited young lady, arrived at work, one morning and announced that she was now "saved". She asked me if I died today, did I think I would go to heaven. I responded that I hoped so; which I believe would be a typical response from a Roman Catholic.

She proceeded to explain how it was possible to be certain. I was skeptical. Then, she gave me a Chick tract to take home and read. The next day, I asked her if she had any more of those little cartoon booklets. She gave me about a dozen. I read every one. I was still skeptical. But, I began to feel very uncomfortable.

After about three days, I couldn't take it anymore. I realized that I was a lost sinner, bound for hell! I got on my knees and pleaded for forgiveness. I asked the Lord Jesus to save me! I felt alive for what seemed like the first time in my life.

I am now 68 years old. I have had my struggles. But, I know that God had pursued me. Undoubtedly, He would have saved me, tracts, or no tracts. But, the tracts gave me the "push" that I needed. – S.C. (Maryland)

It’s amazing how so many of you give to provide Chick tracts for missionaries.  Every week is busy.  Here is what is happening this week:

Portugal (Azores) – Missionary Brian Green will be in the Azores with a team next week (Oct 20 - Nov 1).  The shipment of Chick tracts that you provided has arrived and is waiting for the team.  The father of one of the pastors in this outreach is holding them in storage until next week.  Thank you for making this possible!

Mauritius – More than 20,000 tracts (mostly in French) have now arrived in Mauritius as this is being written, and will be delivered Wednesday to Missionary James Herringson.  Your faithfulness will continue the big impact that these tracts are making on this island in the Indian Ocean.  Herringson reports that they are helping to grow the church!

Mexico – This week, we shipped the next load of 400,000 tracts to Missionary Joe Hendrigsman in Oaxaca, Mexico.  We are making good progress toward the 2.4 million tracts needed by his network in southern Mexico.  We still have several hundred thousand to go.

Also in Mexico, Missionary Lacy Wheeler from Irapuato called and said the churches in his network are running out of Chick tracts.  They are doing a great job of distributing them and need more!  He has asked for 500,000 Chick tracts to be loaded in a container in early December.  That’s a lot of tracts to reach him before the first week of December, so we are rushing this project.

Papua New Guinea – The 320,000 tracts requested for the outreach in Papua New Guinea are working their way through production.  All sixteen titles have now been printed and are being bound.  We must ship by November 10 to meet the schedule for this container.  There is an amazing open door in this country, as the government has realized that spiritual training for the people is the key to their nation’s future.  They have thrown open the doors to the Gospel.

Kenya – Missionary Joetta Smith has been promoted into the arms of Jesus.  Mission boards told her she was too old, so she took her Social Security check and flew to Kenya, where she labored for years in a small village, teaching the Scriptures, and training local pastors to faithfully pass out Chick tracts.  Now, her labor is over, and she is enjoying the rest and reward of all who faithfully serve our loving Lord.  Thank you for supplying her team all these years with Chick tracts.

Nicaragua – BIMI Missionary Ricardo Portillo arrived in Nicaragua with the 8,000 Chick tracts you provided.  He said, “For many years John and Romans have been handed out here, so Chick tracts haven’t really done the rounds here.  Yesterday, in a supermarket, we gave one to a man and we noticed that his whole family got around him to read it there at the supermarket. They were almost fighting to have it and to read the rest of the tract.  Then they actually ran after my wife to get some more so that each one could have one.”

Philippines – As we continue to print for the next 2.4 million container headed for the Philippines, we are still getting pictures from the many ministries who are busy using the Chick tracts from the last container.  Enjoy these few photos of the ministry that you are making possible.
