Halloween: Moving from "innocent" to "dark"
Seriously now... the Halloween decorations are everywhere! Is there even ONE store that doesn't have some sort of Halloween decoration for sale? There are the usual grinning pumpkins, skull-carved tombstones, oversized spiders and spooky costumes for all ages. But there has been a change recently with more "darkness" in the designs. You can even buy a full-sized, animatronic figure of a witch that "casts spells" on the trick-or-treaters who come to your door.
People have no idea how important Halloween is to Satan. This wicked monster loves it and is doing all he can to make the occult and evil look fun and innocent. But it is a doorway to kindle more interest in the occult.
From retail stores to fast-foot restaurants, it is apparent people are in "celebration-mode" all month long. Likewise, for us Christians, Halloween witnessing doesn't have to be limited to the 31st, but can be a month-long opportunity. People are less likely to refuse a Halloween-themed tract because of the season. So, hand them out to people you meet and slip one into plastic jack-o'-lanterns, costume pockets, face masks and candy boxes.
Don't miss all the great opportunities this month! Here are some great places to leave a tract:
Also, try putting these DVD's in candy bags this year! They are deeply discounted to make it possible to distribute them like a tract and each one ends with a solid salvation message.
