Why Is Israel Important to America?

America is currently struggling over who will set government policy. However, one policy may be more important than most others. According to author John McTernan, America's policy toward Israel will significantly affect God's favor.

And the history of this policy has been spotty. The author details a period during World War II when God's face darkened against America because of their attitude toward the apple of God’s eye (Deut. 32:10).

During Hitler’s rise to power, as the President appeased Hitler, American eyes were fixed on the frightening events in Europe. Few paid attention to the development of the Nazi Party in the U.S.A.

But it was growing.

McTernan gives us the fascinating story of the deadly cyclone, dubbed the “Long Island Express,” that roared in off the Atlantic and took deadly aim at the center of the Nazi movement in the U.S., Camp Siegfried on Long Island, New York.

When “The Lord’s Tempest” was finished, there were seven hundred dead, sixty-three thousand homeless, nearly nine thousand damaged buildings and twenty-six thousand destroyed or damaged automobiles. Most of New England’s fishing fleet was gone.

America paid for giving a home to the anti-Semitic racism of the Nazis. McTernan is a great storyteller, and his story is true history!

McTernan details many disasters in America that happened immediately following this nation’s failure to support Israel. But there is also another side to the story. When American presidents supported Israel, America prospered. Her competitor, the Soviet Union, persecuted the Jews and paid a steep price for it.
