On Halloween 2024, Kevin Estrada did something unexpected at Downtown Disney. Instead of handing out candy, he gave away something far more valuable: Chick tracts. Kevin’s mission was simple: share the gospel in a fun, accessible way during one of the busiest nights of the year.

As kids, teenagers, and adults roamed Downtown Disney, Kevin stood behind a table loaded down with colorful tracts and handed them out with a smile. Children greeted him with a cheerful “trick-or-treat!” and eagerly took the tracts. Their excitement was contagious, and Kevin saw how something as simple as a cartoon booklet could bridge the gap to meaningful conversations about faith.

“Awesome”

One man, upon receiving a tract, smiled and said, “Thank you. Have a blessed day.” A young boy responded with an enthusiastic, “awesome!” when he learned the tracts were comics. A teen came by and asked about the booklets. When Kevin shared that they were cartoon booklets, he took one excitedly and exclaimed, “A comic? 100%!” —Gen Alpha speak for “Super cool!”

All day as Kevin handed out tracts to kids and teens, he saw how the comics grabbed the attention of younger generations, making the message inside accessible and engaging.

But it wasn’t just the younger crowd. One lady took a tract and mentioned it was for a friend. Another woman grabbed one for her son. As Kevin placed tracts in trick-or-treat bags and buckets, more people came forward, curious to get one for themselves. One man, a self-professed comic book fan, stopped by and took a tract. Another man took three to hand out himself.

Kevin saw first-hand that cartoon booklets were a powerful way to plant seeds of the gospel. The dynamic illustrations and engaging format made the gospel accessible, especially for those who wouldn’t otherwise be interested in Christian literature.

Came for Fun —Left With the Gospel

While many people came to Downtown Disney seeking fun, candy, and entertainment, Kevin used this opportunity to share the most important message they could ever hear —the gospel. By handing out Chick tracts in such a public and vibrant setting, Kevin helped plant seeds of faith in the hearts of many amidst the festivities of Halloween. His efforts are a perfect example of how we all can use creative methods to share the love of Christ and spread the gospel in places where people least expect it.
