Revival Emerging Across the Globe

In recent months, a series of revival movements have emerged worldwide, challenging cultural norms and reawakening faith in unexpected places. From Seoul, South Korea, to Dublin, Ireland, and Chicago, the global Church is uniting around a shared vision of spiritual awakening, social transformation, and God's mercy.

Millions Gather to Uphold Family and Faith in Seoul

On October 27, 2024, Reformation Sunday in Seoul, Korea drew over 2 million Christians to pray for the revival of their nation and the protection of biblical values. Despite rainy weather, 1.1 million attended in person, with another million joining online. The gathering was in response to proposed anti-discrimination laws that have the potential to legalize gay marriage and promote mixed gender ideologies.

In a message, Rev. Hyun-bo So, senior pastor of Segero Church, clarified that the event was a defense of church freedoms and the sanctity of the family. He also raised concerns about gender transition treatments being administered to children in schools without parental consent.

Warning about the seriousness of the proposed laws, Rev. Hyun-bo So said, “If these laws regarding gay marriage get passed in Korea, then the Christian church cannot stand up for what they believe in, and they cannot say the things that they want to say.”

Thousands March for Jesus and Revival in Dublin

In Dublin, Ireland, the “March for Jesus” on October 26, 2024, marked a pivotal moment in the city’s revival. Up to 12,000 Christians gathered, marching through the streets from the Garden of Remembrance to Dáil Éireann, the Irish parliament.

With signs reading “Jesus is our King” and “Jesus changes everything,” participants united in joy and revival, calling for a return to biblical values in Ireland.

Pastor John Ahern from All Nations Church Dublin described the turnout as “unprecedented,” noting a growing hunger for truth in a generation disillusioned by secular ideologies. “There’s no substance, meaning, or happiness to be found in those ideologies,” Ahern said, emphasizing that Ireland is poised for a spiritual turning back to God.

Chicago's "Freedom March" Sparks Hope for LGBTQ Transformation

In Chicago, the "Rainbow Revival" movement is bringing hope and healing to individuals who have come out of the former LGBTQ community. Jay Peters, a missionary and pastor, has worked with former LGBTQ individuals who have left their lifestyles to follow Jesus. He describes this movement as "Jesus People 2.0," likening it to the 1960s Jesus Movement that transformed a generation of hippies.

"God is doing the same thing with [former] LGBTQ people," he said. "They’re being raised up to become leaders, pastors, evangelists, and prophets." This movement, rooted in God’s love for all people, challenges the church to seek God’s transforming work in people from every background, including those coming out of LGBTQ lifestyles.

“The Lord has called Rainbow Revival to go into the heart of cities and testify in the public square that entrapped, ensnared people can be freed from false identities – glorifying Jesus and making a fool of the enemy," said MJ Nixon, who helped lead the first Freedom March in Washington, D.C.” Efforts through ministries like the Freedom March have led to many individuals embracing Jesus and leaving their former identities behind.

Get Involved in a Global Wave of Revival

The Holy Spirit is at work in our world, and we have the opportunity to join in like never before. We may not be at Seoul’s worship service, Dublin’s March for Jesus, or Chicago’s Freedom March, but we can stand for truth, proclaim the gospel, and bring healing to broken people right where we are.

When you hand someone a Chick tract, you present them with the hope of the gospel and the one answer that can radically transform their life. And transformed lives is the goal of every revival movement. The wide distribution of gospel tracts helps prepare hearts for revival. Let’s be faithful to spread the Good News of the transforming power of Jesus Christ that alone reshapes hearts and nations.
