The gospel offers life, freedom, and true identity in Christ. That is the powerful message of the CHANGED Movement, a bold, international network of former LGBTQ-identifying Christians. They are dedicated to delivering that message to those trapped in the LGBTQ lies.
And they are helping many in the LGBTQ community to discover a desire for the life-changing truth and the biblical answers that lead to real freedom.
Members of the movement have found new life in Jesus and now fight to protect the right to access biblical counseling and gospel truth. Founded in 2018, CHANGED challenges laws that silence free speech and criminalize counseling that aligns with faith.
The following stories that CHANGED members share, focus on promoting a powerful truth: with God’s Word and loving guidance, transformation is possible.
Raised as a pastor’s kid, Heather rebelled and lived in a same-sex relationship while serving in the Air Force. Her life was marked by chaos, abuse, and trauma.
After a suicide attempt, she visited her parents and went to church. She gave her life to Jesus then and there. “I expected condemnation but found an overwhelming presence,” Heather remarked. The journey since hasn’t been easy, but very worth it. When Heather’s family and church reached out with love, she encountered Jesus’ enduring mercy and power.
“Jesus didn’t ask me to change overnight,” she continued. “He asked me to follow Him. And as I walk with Him, He changes what needs to be changed. I’m not perfect, but I’m free.”
Haydee’s early years were scarred by sexual abuse and addiction. By 13, she’d come out as gay, trapped in fear and confusion. She pulled away from God, struggled with her identity, and turned to alcohol and drugs to numb her pain.
But God never stopped pursuing her. Through relationships and events like “Love Broke the Chain,” Haydee was met with the Gospel. Initially, she resisted, but over time she realized the life she was living was not what God intended.
After painful attempts to “fix” herself, she hit rock bottom. It was only through biblical counseling and discipleship that Haydee came to understand that God wanted to make her whole in Him.
Today, Haydee is sober, forgiven, married, and thriving. “I am now truly free,” she says. “I love being a woman, a wife, and a mother. Once full of fear, I am now truly free.”
Growing up in Malaysia, Simon faced childhood sexual abuse, and from a young age identified as a girl. Drawn into the transgender community, Simon underwent hormone treatments, multiple surgeries, and lived as a transgender woman for 18 years. He suffered betrayal, heartbreak, and attempted suicide.
After reconnecting with his mother and attending church, he began seeking the Lord while still living as a woman. The turning point came when Simon met his future wife, Ruth, who was also wrestling with her own transgender identity. Together, they heard a message about God’s design for marriage and gender that convicted them deeply.
They repented, left their transgender identities behind, and fully embraced God’s design for gender and marriage. Simon says, “In my brokenness, I had been seeking a worldly love that I thought would satisfy. But after the Lord set me free, I experienced a greater love.”
These testimonies reveal a critical truth: access to the Bible and biblical counseling is a lifeline for people trapped in the pain, confusion, and destruction of LGBTQ lifestyles. Without it, many remain lost, isolated, and despairing. But when provided with these resources, love, and patience, lives are transformed by the gospel and radically changed.
