Prison Ministry Letters: Sep-2002

I found a Chick tract on a shelf in the Post Office. Until this time I didn't know Chick tracts even existed. It occurred to me that these tracts might be good to reach prisoners with. I wrote the state prison commission for a list of all the prisons and correctional institutions in the state. They sent me a list of 99 Centers. I wrote to the superintendent of each center and asked for permission to mail tracts once a month to each center. I had only two outright refusals. From one little tract in the Post Office, I now have a viable prison ministry through the mail.

I just got saved! I was a muslim. Your book The Prophet gave me a lot of understanding. A Christian brother who led me to the Lord uses a lot of your books.

I recently graduated from Bible College and have been busy in local jails. I have been able to lead 175 prisoners to Christ and have been offered a chaplain's position. This prison has over 5,000 inmates and they love Chick tracts. They always ask for them and they are my greatest tool in the work here.

I received a letter from a young man (age 22) serving time for murder which took place in a drug deal. As a result of sharing with him several Chick tracts, he has become saved. I can notice through his letter how his life is blossoming, even though he is shut away in maximum security.
